RESNA 2027 Conference

RESNA holds its 2027 annual conference on April 29 to 30, 2027, inside the New York Metro Abilities International Accessibility Conference. That conference runs at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, New Jersey, co-located with the New York Metro Abilities Expo (April 30 to May 2).

RESNA is the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America, a nonprofit membership association for assistive technology professionals. Its conference brings together occupational and physical therapists, ATPs, rehab engineers, researchers, educators and manufacturers. RESNA’s programming at the 2027 event includes workshops and sessions, scientific and student paper platform sessions with posters, the Student Design Challenge and the Developer’s Showcase.

The 2027 format is a consolidation. In 2026 RESNA split its programming between the Long Beach and New York Metro Abilities International events. Executive Director Andrea Van Hook told HME News that two events so close together may have confused members, and New York drew more of them. RESNA plans to return to a standalone in-person conference in 2028, its first since 2023.

Because partner groups cover seating and mobility, RESNA’s 2027 call for content leans toward other assistive technology topics: AI, robotics and emerging technology, play and recreation, and the standard AT areas. RESNA, NCART, iNRRTS, the Clinician Task Force, the International Seating Symposium and U.S. Rehab are jointly offering IACET continuing education units for eligible sessions.

Submission deadlines, per RESNA: Student Scientific Paper Competition and Student Design Challenge, January 22, 2027; Scientific Papers, February 5, 2027; Developer’s Showcase, February 26, 2027. The workshops and sessions deadline has passed. RESNA had not posted registration fees as of 2026-10-30. Abilities Expo admission is free; the professional conference is registered separately through Abilities International.
