Editorial Policy
How Daily Mobility Digest sources, writes, labels and corrects its coverage, including its use of AI-assisted drafting and its rules on medical claims.
This page sets out how Daily Mobility Digest reports. It applies to every digest item, explainer, company page and event page on the site.
Sourcing
Every item links to its primary source. We prefer official documents and company statements over secondhand reports: a CMS final rule over a summary of it, a company’s own release over a report about the release, a published study over a press account of the study. When we rely on a trade publication or news outlet for a fact we cannot get from the primary source, we name and link that outlet.
Numbers, dates, dollar amounts and rule citations come only from a source we opened. If we cannot verify a figure, we say so rather than estimate it.
Original writing
We do not copy other publications’ text. Each item is an original synthesis written from the sources it links. Every item ends with a “why it matters” line that states, in one sentence, what the news means for dealers, manufacturers, clinicians, payers or equipment users. Quotations are marked as quotations and attributed.
Editorial items and announcements
Editorial items are chosen and written by the digest. Announcements are different. They are material submitted by companies and organizations, they run in a separate section labelled “Announcements,” and we publish them at the editors’ discretion. Announcements are not paid. Submitting one does not buy coverage, and we may cover the same news as an editorial item on its merits, with our own sourcing.
No paid placement
There is no paid placement in editorial items. No company, association or payer can buy a mention, a position in the issue or a favorable description. If the site carries advertising or sponsorship in the future, it will be labelled as such and kept visually and editorially separate from digest items.
AI-assisted drafting
We use AI tools to help gather sources and draft items. The editorial standards on this page are set by people, and every item is checked against them. Before publication each issue passes an automated compliance check that looks for unsourced claims, medical-outcome language, copied text and the writing rules below. Items that fail are fixed or dropped.
No medical advice and no product-outcome claims
We do not give medical advice. Coverage explainers describe rules and point readers to the official source and to their own clinician or supplier. We do not claim that any product produces a health outcome, such as less pain, fewer falls or healthier joints. We describe what a product is and how it works, and we report outcome claims only as claims made by a named party, with the source linked.
Keeping explainers current
Coverage explainers are living pages. Each carries an updated date and a “what changed recently” section with dated, sourced entries. When a rule, fee schedule or program changes, we revise the explainer and move the updated date. An explainer whose updated date is older than the change it should reflect is out of date, and we want to hear about it.
Independence
We accept no payment for coverage.
Corrections
We correct errors of fact with a dated note on the item. The corrections page describes how to report an error and what to expect.
