Corrections

How to report an error in Daily Mobility Digest, what gets corrected or clarified, and how quickly we respond.

Updated

Daily Mobility Digest corrects errors of fact. This page says how.

How to report an error

Email editor@dailymobilitydigest.com with the URL of the item, the text you believe is wrong, and the source that shows the correct fact. A link to a primary document (a rule, a filing, a company release, a study) gets the fastest result.

What gets corrected

An error of fact gets a correction: a wrong date, number, name, rule citation, dollar amount, company, product or attribution, or a misstatement of what a source says. We fix the text and add a dated note to the item that says what was wrong and what changed. The original item keeps its URL. Corrections to an issue also appear in the next issue.

What gets clarified

A clarification is used when the original text was accurate but incomplete or open to misreading, or when a source has since changed what it says. We add context and a dated note labelled “Clarification” rather than “Correction.”

Disagreement with an item’s “why it matters” line, or with which stories we chose, is not an error. We read those messages, but they do not produce a correction note.

Response

We acknowledge every report within two business days and resolve it, or tell you why we have not, within five business days. Reports that affect a live coverage explainer are handled first.
