Ki Mobility designs and builds manual wheelchairs and seating for the complex rehab market from 5201 Woodward Drive in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Doug Munsey and Murray Slagerman founded the company in 2005 with the goal of a lightweight folding wheelchair that handles like a rigid one.
Its US catalog lists folding frames (Catalyst 5, Catalyst 5Ti, Catalyst 5Vx, Catalyst 4), rigid frames (Rogue2, Rogue DT, Rogue ALX), tilt frames (Focus CR, Liberty, CR45), a pediatric line (Rogue XP, Little Wave Arc, Clik, Flip and XP, Tyke, Spark) and the Axiom range of cushions, backs and hardware. The site also sells the Klaxon Twist power-assist unit and Star air cushions from its parent.
Ownership
Etac AB of Kista, Sweden acquired Ki Mobility in a deal announced October 6, 2021, with shares transferred as of September 23, 2021. Terms were not disclosed. Days earlier Ki Mobility had bought Adaptive Engineering Lab, a seating and positioning maker, and moved its operations to Stevens Point. Etac reported around 900 employees and 2020 sales of about SEK 2.8 billion at the time. Ki Mobility does not publish its own revenue or headcount. The brand now trades as “Ki Mobility by Etac.”
