Apria (legal entity Apria Healthcare Group LLC) provides home respiratory therapy, sleep apnea therapy, negative pressure wound therapy and other home medical equipment. The company says it serves approximately 2 million patients. Apria moved its headquarters from the Los Angeles area to Indianapolis about a year before its 2022 sale, per the Indianapolis Business Journal. Apria does not publish a founding year on its site.

Ownership

Owens & Minor announced in January 2022 that it would buy Apria for about $1.6 billion, or $37.50 per share, and operates it alongside Byram Healthcare. On October 7, 2025, Owens & Minor agreed to sell its Products & Healthcare Services segment and the Owens & Minor brand to Platinum Equity for $375 million in cash, keeping a 5% stake, to focus on its home medical equipment business. The sale closed December 31, 2025, and the parent was renamed Accendra Health, Inc. It began trading on the NYSE as ACH on January 2, 2026. Accendra, based in Richmond, Virginia, says it has more than 6,000 teammates and over 250 service locations across the Apria and Byram brands. Edward A. Pesicka is president and CEO.
